Playoff Formats
- TBA Championships are double-knockout tournament
- Standings (based on points) used to determine seeds
- 2 teams – Best 3 of 5 playoff series. First place teams gets the extra home game.
- 3 teams – (Format changed for 2013 season) (Round-Robin on Saturday) 1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs L1, 3rd vs W1. Teams then play in order of finish (via tiebreaker if necessary on Sunday): 2nd vs 3rd, Winner plays 1st. If 1st is 1-1, the next game is sudden-death. If 1st is 2-0, they must lose twice
- 4 teams – 4 team double-knockout format. First round – 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 based on standings. To be played Friday-Sunday if possible.
- 5 teams – Modified 5-team OBA double-knockout format. First round – 4 vs 5; 1, 2, 3 receive byes. Friday-Sunday if possible.
- 6 teams – 6 team OBA double-knockout format. First round 2 v 5, 3 v 4, 1 v 6. Played Friday – Sunday if possible considering fields available.
- More than 6, use OBA format as needed and 2 v 7, 3 v 6, 4 v 5, 1 v 8.
Playoff details:
- GAME BALLS: Each team, please bring TWO Game Balls to all of your games
- COIN TOSS: Like OBA Tournaments, coin toss will decide the home team for ALL games.
- TIME LIMITS: NNI after 2:30 for the round robin (2:00 for peewee and below). Semi-final and Final - no time limit, 7 innings
- MERCY RULE: applies to ALL games *18 after 3, 15 after 4, 10 after 5 innings*
- NO TIES: Winner must be declared in all games. Play extra innings until winner declared.
- UMPIRES: Each team is required to pay 1 umpire fee for every one of their games over the course of the weekend.
- PITCH COUNTS: OBA rules apply as always – record through tournament convener
- A Division: Coaches “lineup option” to bat full roster or play by OBA rules - 9 batters or 10 (EP).
